Stepping in for the "Seer"

I've been a huge fan of American Idol since the first season, but what has made it so much more enjoyable the past few years is reading the commentary of "the Seer." A former coworker of mine, he would live-blog his thoughts every Tuesday night and predict who would get the ax - hence the moniker. It made for great water cooler discussion the next morning and he was hilarious!

But the Seer now has since moved on from the company I work with and has other evening priorities, like delivering the news to viewers on Fox 28 in South Bend, Ind. at 5pm and 10pm.

Luckily, he's offered to lend his "seeing" powers to me on Tuesday and Wednesday nights between the hours of 8 and 10. So I'll be adding a special feature to my blog on Idol performance nights.

Here's where I am at after the first Hollywood episode:

• The talent is better this year - although I'm pretty sure a lot of it came from overseas? Hmmm..... I like the Irish chick Carly!
• I think I've determined this year's nerd: the politician kid who tried singing Josh Groban.
• Despite asking the band to leave during his final audition, the kid who first sang Mika's "Grace Kelly" is amazing. Hope I can stand by that statement in a few weeks.
• Lot's of potential for man eye-candy. I was a "Blaker" girl last year and I'm currently holding auditions for who will win my heart this AI season. In the running: the guy who sang Bohemian Rhapsody.
