News update for energy professionals
June 21, 2012 1:56 pm Education NewsThe company Atlantic Array is one of the latest to get media attention for their renewable energy plans. In this case it is wind farms. They have plans to spend in the region of £3 billion building enough turbines to power 1 million homes. However, their recent announcement to scale down the build from 417 to 278 turbines has caused trouble.
People in opposition to the plans have claimed this announcement by Atlantic Array was simply as a fake concession to those who don’t want the plant. They claim the smaller plan size of 278 was always what was planned, so reducing it in a move to appease opposition was merely a tactical step. For all those in renewable energy consultant jobs this provides a powerful warning that mistrust of the big energy companies is at an all-time high.
