An estate agent is a salesperson, so though their day to day tasks may not be that complicated their skills such as negotiation and interpersonal have to be very good. The average day will involve administration like responding to and sending emails, cold calls and calling existing clients, plus updating and keeping paperwork.

The day will be broken up with doing viewings and meeting clients (both sellers and buyers), plus internal get-togethers with colleagues. The atmosphere of some agencies can be very competitive and cut throat. Other agencies will be a bit more relaxed. In both salaries are heavily based on commission and targets. The working day is generally 9-5pm, with shorter days for part time property jobs.
