As a child I never had much. Growing up, I knew not about the world of affluence. My parents were simple peasants who lived in the city after moving from the village where life was very difficulty. In the beginning, city life had been hard and even food hard to come by. Even though I was just a young child, I still remember those days as being some of the darkest days of my life. Things got a little better. We no longer went without food though we had no comforts or luxuries. This was after my parents became street wise and started doing all manner of odd jobs. We cooked over an open fire and slept on the hard ground with only a skimpy cloth to cover ourselves. Now, we are all grown up and each of us did well for themselves. One could say that our tough early childhood taught us something. None of us wants to live like that again. Now we are able to take good care of our ageing parents. I pick up the bosch ovens instruction manual and its interesting to read about the old kenwood chefs. I am trying to fix the Bosch oven so that my parents can start using it. My mother is so excited about not having to use the old stove anymore. it’s the least we can do for her as her children. To sort of pay them back for all the sacrifices they took for us. Its only right that we take care of them now that they are advanced in years. Taking them to a home for the old would only kill them and so though we are buying them all these things to keep them comfortable, I am certain that it wont be long before we have to take them into our homes.
