Treating The Cold
January 23, 2012 5:29 am Education NewsI love it when the cold weather has left and the sun is shining and you can feel the warmth on your face. I love the flowers that bloom and the fact that I can go out in sandals and shorts. The only thing that I do not love is the fact that my body does not take too kindly to the rapid change in weather. Going from 50 to 80 degree weather over night is not easy on the body.
When the weather changes my body comes down with the cold that could last as long as a month if I do not treat it properly. The first thing that I make sure to do is consume a ton of vitamin C. This is great when it comes to the immune system and is going to help give it a boost that will protect your body and help it to recovery quickly.
Sleep is another thing that your body needs when it is trying to fight off an infection. You want to make sure that you get a full night’s rest and that you take a nap when you need it most. Also drink a ton of water during the day. This will keep you well hydrated and help give your body the nutrients it needs.
Try to use a sinus irrigation when trying to clean out the mucous that has built up inside of your nose. Hot tea and honey is also going to help keep the throat from getting clogged and put a stop to any of the coughing fits at night. With all of these treatments you will feel better in no time at all!
